West Asheville Yoga Fall Book Club | In Person

Prepare for a morning of poetry, connection, and community!

Featuring You Better Be Lightening by Andrea Gibson

Hosted by West Asheville Yoga and Library of Care

About the Book

At our seasonal book club gathering, we will honor the life of this incredible writer and activist, as we experience their powerful collection of poetry published in 2021, shortly after Gibson was diagnosed with cancer.

The book explores themes of love, loss, gender identity, queerness, illness, grief, hope, and the urgency of living fully.

About the Event

We’ll also be sharing a casual potluck of small bites—bring something to share if you’d like, or simply come as you are This will be a warm and welcoming space for all who attend, with no obligation to bring food.

This event is open to everyone eager to learn and grow together. We’d love to have you join the conversation!

*Location is TBD and will be sent to you after registration.*

About the Facilitators

The book club is facilitated by me—Faye D’Avanza, the founder and creative guide at Library of Care—and Kim Drye, the owner and director of West Asheville Yoga who holds a bachelor’s in literature and has a deep love for discussing texts and philosophy.
